Pinterest Inspiration ~ Spa Water

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

It is summer time and it is HOT! Even though I absolutely LOVE summer time, being pregnant in the heat....well, you basically feel like you are going to DIE. I do anyways. I truly feel like it is about 15 degrees hotter than it really is. Let's not really mention the fact that I sweat NON stop and feel like I'm going to pass out at times. Blah.

However, while browsing IG the other day, a blog friend, Kendall posted a very neat recipe for Berry Lemon Water! My mouth immediately started watering for some. I LOVE lemons and crave them while pregnant. So I wanted to really give her recipe a try. It was so good and tasty! And, let's face the truth here with me >> I HATE plain water. I really do. When it is flavored it is so much better and easier for me to drink. My OB will thank Kendall for getting me in the mood to try more tasty recipes with Spa Waters.

I turned to a good 'ole friend (Pinterest) and found some really yummy ideas to also try. Here are a few!

Not only are they pretty they are really good for you too!!!! You can try these with frozen or fresh fruit! I found more frozen fruit stashed in the back of my freezer last night, so I am going to be trying some other possibilities!!!!

Do you like and enjoy Spa Water? What's your favorite recipes?

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Hey y'all!!! Did you have fun last week looking at other's recipes? I did! I found a few I HAVE to try!
Thanks for all that linked up with us. It was great to visit your blog and check out what you're cook'n!

Here's our menu for this week!

In our family we LOVE CrockPot meals. LOVE, love, LoVe them!
Especially since I am pregnant and do not feel like cooking at all some days.
Here is a fave that was on last week's menu!
This is another one of those dump and go recipes.
-that's what I like to call it-

Ingredients:
1 can corn
1 can kidney beans
1 can rotel
1 can black beans (drained and washed)
1 can tomato sauce
1 lb of hamburger meat
1 pack of taco seasoning
1/2 jar of favorite salsa

-toppings-
Sour Cream
Frito Corn Chips
Shredded Cheese
(and any others that you love)

Directions:
Brown your hamburger meat.
Once browned; drain and rinse.
Dump into the empty crockpot.
Open all your cans listed above and dump them in as well.
The ONLY one that you will drain and wash are the black beans -
the others just dump from the can
Stir all together.
I cook on high for 3 hours.
Place your toppings.
Enjoy.

**please note**
this recipe will make a large amount of soup. we just fill our bellies up and then I let it cool off, then bag it up and freeze the rest. we thaw out + reheat and have several days/weeks later. it is even great then.

Ewwy Gooey Reese's Peanut Butter Cupcakes!

Monday, June 17, 2013

I hope all of the Daddy's out there had a WONDERFUL Father's Day!
I love my Daddy very much and I adore my children's Daddy.

This Father's Day I made my dad and Michael one amazing dessert.
Having their mouth's water is to say the least!
Michael LOVES Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and my dad LOVES peanut butter in general.

I have never attempted homemade cake batter, so I did just use a double moist box mix.
...not going to lie.
BUT, the frosting is homemade.
Ingredients:
1 8oz package cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups of YOUR FAVORITE peanut butter
1 cup butter
4 cups powdered sugar
2 tbs milk
crushed Reese's cups to go on top...amount is up to you!

Directions:
Beat together your butter and cream cheese.
After blended well, add in your peanut butter.
Beat until completely mixed.
SLOWLY add in your powdered sugar.
Add in your milk and vanilla extract.
Mix well.
Let sit about five minutes and frost cake / cupcakes when they are cool.
Icing is runny, this is why it is called "ewwy gooey". :)

"It will literally melt in your mouth!" -My Husband

ALSO- you can put the icing on top of chocolate brownies...it's to DIE FOR!

...and Dad's cake...
Enjoy!!
